DON’T YOU LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT “HERNIA”

Due to numerous reasons many of us are susceptible to this vulnerable disorder and it is good if we have a basic knowledge of this disease so that we can avoid many fusses.

What is Hernia?  Projection of an organ or fatty tissue through a damaged or weak spot in our body results Hernia.  It occurs in the abdomen, upper thigh, bellybutton, or groin regions.  Though hernias never affect our body immediately, it may develop severe consequences resulting death also.

CAUSES:  there are variety of reasons, such as Diarrhea, Constipation, Chronic Cough, Over-Sneezing, obesity, Malnutrition, Smoking, and even during the lift of heavy object.  All these above factors weaken the respective muscles and make hernia more possible.

SYMPOTOMS:

Swelling under the skin of the abdomen resulting constipation and a “heavyfeeling” in the abdomen.  Sometimes blood discharged along with the stool.

TYPES OF HERNIA:
  1. Inguinal:  It is very common and is caused by the protrusion of the intestine through a weak spot in the lower abdominal wall.  It is widely prevalent among MEN.  It is so because, the testicles of a man descend through the inguinal canal soon after birth.  The inguinal canal is supposed to be closed.  Sometimes the canal remains unclosed leaving a delicate spot for the development of hernia
  2. Hiatal:  It occurs, when a portion of the stomach protruded up through the diaphragm.  The diaphragm is a sheet that separates the abdominal cavity from the chest cavity.  Aged people are prone to this type of hernia.  It causes burning sensation due to the leakage of  food intake by the  patient
  3. Umbilical Hernia:  It occurs when a part of the small intestine prtrudesthrough the abdominal wall at the navel region.  It is very common among the new borne.  Obese or frequent child borne women are affected with these disorders.
  4. Incisional hernia:  It commonly occurs among those who underwent abdominal surgery and remained overweight.  usually it happens because of passiveness after abdominal surgery
  5. Femoral hernia:  It occurs due to the entry of intestine into the canal that carries femoral artery into the upper thigh.  Pregnant and obese women are prone to this type of hernia

TREATMENT

If you develop any such symptoms, it is always better to consult a registered physician and follow his advice

POWER PROBLEM IN INDIA

India, the second most populous country in the world drastically faces inadequate supply of power.  Many states resort power cut as a solution.  Both the state governments and the central government are toiling hard to minimize this problem.  Many power producing units have been renovated and still some of them yet to undergo maintenance or renovation.  Many projects are under construction.  There is no doubt, the governments are taking initiatives to put an end for it.

Why do we face power shortage?

The degree of power shortage is directly proportional to the rate at which the various industries and house-hold people consume power.  WE cannot think of employing hurdles for the industries because industrial growth and functioning is indispensable for our national growth.  In this situation what can we do?

Can we create public awareness?

It is our sincere responsibility to create public awareness, particularly to our electricity employees.  Often we could see the illumination street lights in the day time.  It may be because of the carelessness of our people who are in charge of it.  The respective officers must take proper initiative to nip it in the bud itself.  Public should also look into the matter seriously and they should realize that it is their money that has been wasted unnecessarily.  If they happen to come across similar situation, it is one of the prime responsibilities to inform the matter to the concerned people.

House-hold consumption:

At present, people’s mentality has been changed considerably with regard to house hold power consumption.  Some of us think that we can get electricity freely from water without spending any money.  What they feel is that we require only some posts and wires.  In this connection, what to be mentioned here is that there exist as wide gulf between the people of the past (people who consumed electricity during 1960) and the present

People of the past:

In those days in houses, people treated electricity as a costly item (correct approach) and never used lights extravagantly. Though the number of people who used electricity was less, the consumption was very cautious.  When there was no work in the kitchen or in a particular room, they used  to put-off the lights.  Mostly they used only one tube or bulb in a particular room.  Most of them never used the fans always. There was a lot of restrictions with regard to the usage of fans and other electrical appliances.

People of the present:

At present. There are many lights (tubes or bulbs) in a particular room and are concerned with only SWITCH ON AND NOT SWITCH OFF.  When any one moved out of a room, he/she forgets to switch off any thing resulting wastage of power. It happens in many offices, including educational institutions. Many offices and educational institutions have been closed in the evening with all or a few lights and fans in the running conditions.

HIGH TIME TO BRING AWARENESS:

It is the high time to educate our own young generation about the problem of wasting electricity unnecessarily.  It should be started from each home and we have to bring awareness among everybody about the necessity of power saving mechanism so that everybody should be brought in the right track to stop the habit of wasting electricity.  Knowingly or unknowingly many of us tend to waste electricity.  The Art of Power Saving can be taught to our school children as a part of curriculum so that everybody can be a part of building our nation.

HEALTH IS WEALTH

PILES – Is it one of the Major diseases?

Now a days, in this fast world, due to improper food habits, people tend to develop several diseases.  One among them is “Piles”.  It occurs mainly because of the “high pressure” given to the ‘Rectum’, consequently the ‘Rectum’ may swell or bulge.  Inflammation in the veins (Hemorrhoids) occurs resulting a series symptoms such as

  1. Development of hard lump around the anus
  2. Exit of blood or mucus after a bowel movement
  3. Presence of pain during bowel movement.
  4. Development of uncomfortable feeling and irritation after bowel movement,

The stages of internal hemorrhoids can be listed into four stages.

Stage 1: can be called as the primary stage in which, there develops non visible minute inflammations inside the lining of anus.

Stage 2: is the secondary stage in which minute projections are projected, and it may result pain during defecating. These projections may be returned back.

Stage 3: the tertiary stage is the significant one in which minute bulges or projections occur outside the anus, resulting much uncomfort and pain.  These projections can be pushed inside when the patients press with their fingers.

Stage 4: the final stage results the condition in which the protruded elements can’t be pushed back and the patient needs a doctor for the treatment.  These are larger enough to create a lot of discomfort to the patients and it may need surgical intervention.

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE

It mainly occurs due to CHRONIC CONSTIPATION, DIARRHEA, OR OVER-STRAINING during defecating.  It may occur due to pregnancy or lifting a heavy object.

PRECAUTIONARY STEPS

  1. Avoid over-staring during defecating and it is better to avoid Laxatives.
  2. It is always good to perform regular moderate exercises
  3. If the patient is over weighed, try to reduce weights
  4. Avoid constipation by eating fiber—rich food stuffs such as green Vegetables, fruits and bran-contented food items.
  5. Drink plenty of water
  6. Deworm your digestive system regularly.
  7. It is better to avoid BRAN-FREE FAST FOOD STUFFS
  8. Don’t sit at a particular place always.  Stand up for a while and move a little.
  9. It is always better to consult a doctor and take proper medical treatment if affected.
  10. Don’t delay and try to nip it in the bud itself

Do you like to live in this world after death?

It is a natural phenomenon that we are mortal, One’s life span varies from person to person.  Everybody wants to live in the world for many years while some are forbidden.  In this scientific era, one can live after his/her death by donating his/her organs to needy people.

MEDICAL TREATMENT

We are prone to vulnerable diseases and we die because of health ailments, natural causes and accidents.  We are saved by the doctors who provides correct treatment at the correct time.  Inspite of the good treatment, some of us are subjected to irreparable ORGAN DAMAGES.  For some people ORGAN REPLACEMENT is the only remedial measure for LIFE

ORGAN SHORTAGE

We are under shortage of organs such as kidney, heart and eyes to be replaced for someone.  But many of us are unaware of these facts and don’t know the procedure for giving or receiving the organs.

BRAIN DEATH IN INDIA

In India, the total number of brain deaths resulting from accident is more than one lakhs per year.  In that case, if 20% of above causes result in organ harvest, there would be no necessity for live donation.

What is brain death?

Brain death is a condition in which there is an irreversible loss of consciousness, absence of brain stem reflexes and apnea.  Brain death is normally considered as the preliminary stage for organ retrieval and transplantation.

HINDRANCES;

The main element that hinders organ transplantation is lack of awareness and absence of swift mode of transport that make the patients to wait in a large queue for a long period resulting death.  By donating our organs, we can live even after our death.  Let us bring public awareness of it.

MONTH END HAVOC OF MONEY SCARCITY AMONG THE MIDDLE CLASS MONTHLY PAID EMPLOYEES

Monthly paid employees are in a festive mood, till the mid-day of every month.  Later they are thrust in the disastrous mood, till they get the next month salary.  In this situation, there are people who always worried about borrowing money from others in order to meet their daily expenses.  Though it is unavoidable to many of us, its intensity can be minimized by proper pre-planning.  Here are some tips to overcome from the problems

Tips 1.

As soon as you received your salary, make a budget of your own expenses and strictly adhere with-it.  In this connection if you require to pay the compulsory elements such as home rent or school fees on a later date and got your salary in prior date, you will be advised to remit the amount immediately without any delay.  If you delay the payment, you will make room for further problems.  Sometimes, you may not be able to pay the amount in time, resulting unnecessary payment of fines.  DON’T CREATE SUCH A SITUATION AT ANY CAST

Tips 2.

Immediately after getting your salary, you have to make a list of urgent expenses and spend the money for that purposes only.  Don’t deviate from these pre-fixed plan and channelize the money for any other unwanted purposes.

Tips 3.

Having allocated the money for your various expenses, calculate how much is available to spare and decide for what other purposes you can spend the remaining money and see how much amount you can save per month.  If you want to reduce your expenses and save money, you can avoid visiting restaurants and malls frequently.

Tips 4.

You are advised to save some amount in each month irrespective of your salary in each month in the form of R.D or simple saving in a bank.  This reserve fund will help you during unavoidable emergency situations.

Tips 5.

It is always better to avoid loans.  If it is unavoidable, minimize it.  Once you happened to avail loans, remember you have to give a considerable amount in the form of interest, and there are incidents that many people have lost their considerable portion of their earnings by paying interests.

The above recommendations are based on the advices given by the eminent family members who succeeded in their life in the midst of financial instabilities.  Why can’t you also try?

Time Management

Today we live in the fast world.   All of us want to do our various activities briskly.  But many of us fail to discharge our duties with in the stipulated time.  Consequently, we are subjected to undue pressure from others.  In this world GOD provided us only twenty four hours per day.  It is our prime responsibility to manage the time wisely so that we shall put an end to all chaos and step our feet towards success.

At present we hear resentments from all walks of life starting from the home maker to the top most business executive.  A business executive ran to his bus station without tying his shoe-laics, in an embracing statement and he was looked differently.  In a case a top manager could not get time to have his lunch for several days and got fainted in the office.  There are officials and ordinary workers who could not get time to spend themselves with their family members.  There are home makers who could not arrange breakfast in time though they got up very early in the morning and they are forced to send their husbands and children without breakfast.  If we go on analyzing the problems, we can understand that many divorces resulted due to the failure in the management of time.

Wise and tactic method of time management

In this modern fast world, we are required to manage pour time wisely.  If not we may be put into an embarrassing situation.  Our various activities can be classified into two, based upon its nature.  They are:

  • OFFICIAL ACTIVITIES
  • PERSONAL ACTIVITIES

Whether it is official or personal, it can be further divided into three based upon the time of action.

  • Tasks too be done immediately, (urgent matters)
  • Tasks to be done periodically (at regular intervals) and
  • Tasks to be done lately (after a while)

At this juncture, we need to give importance to PRIORITIES.  For example, for an official, giving proper reply or directions to their customers is more important than arranging the files in his office.  In the same way, for an executive, allocation of different tasks to be performed by his subordinates in a day/week/month is more important than explaining about his future plan of action.  In the personal life too, providing the basic needs is more important than planning for repairing or maintenance work.

PROPER PLANNING

Adequate planning is indispensable to achieve your goal with in a particular period of time.  Accordingly make your daily/weekly /monthly time schedules for your personal or official activities,

The above tips can be followed by anybody.  For a student, official activity includes all the activities connected with his school or college.  It includes, daily learning of lesions, completion of homework, submission assignments, giving extra time for the weak subject and ultimate preparation for terminal tests’
